FORT WASHINGTON — The Patriots continued their winning ways at home, overpowering visiting Lawrenceville School, 19-10. On the season, Germantown Academy is undefeated against schools from New Jersey.
In addition to showing dominance against in-state competition, the team has gone 8-1-1 in their last 10 games. That mark is the best stretch under head coach Mike Koziol.
“Lawrenceville was a tough opponent who did a great job of shooting from the outside,” Koziol said in an email. “Our goal was to limit their shooters clean looks on cage. We did a great job of shutting those shooters down. Jack Lafond, Walker Butler, and Brian Bartle all did an outstanding job of defending the perimeter and forcing their shots astray. Our goalies both played into the game plan as well, combining for 19 saves on the day.”
The win moves the Patriots to 12-5-1 (3-1 in Inter-Ac play). The team begins their second round through league play on Friday, as they host Episcopal Academy.
