MALVERN — The Patriots took to the road on Jan. 9 to take on Malvern Prep in their first meet of 2018. Unfortunately, things did not get off on the right foot as Germantown Academy fell to the Friars, 117-67.
While the team suffered a negative result, there were still individuals that succeeded in their events.
Zachary Kohm ’21 took first place in the 200 freestyle in a time of 1:44.76. Jack Lafond ’19 won his event — the 100 breaststroke — with a time of 1:01.98. Also taking first place was the 400 freestyle relay team consisting of Kohm, Walker Butler ’20, Marc Arsever ’20 and Sean Keenan ’19. The group swam their event in 3:34.91.
In the 500 freestyle, Patrick O’Hara ’21 swam a 5:05.34. The time was a personal best by over four seconds for O’Hara.
The Patriots will be back in action tomorrow at The Hill School at 4:00 p.m.
