FORT WASHINGTON — The Germantown Academy boys swimming and diving team put together a solid effort when they hosted Peddie School on Jan. 18. However, it was not enough to win the meet as GA fell to the Falcons, 109-74.
Despite the loss, the Patriots had plenty of top-three finishes. Zachary Kohm ’21 took first place in the 500 freestyle with a time of 4:41.41. In second place was Gavin Loughlin ’20 with a time of 4:57.73. Kohm also placed first in he 200-yard freestyle with a time of 1:43.43.
The Patriots took second place in the 200 freestyle relay with a time of 1:33.02. The group consisted of Marc Arsever ’20, Walker Butler ’20, Gabriel Levy ’19 and Kohm. In the 400 freestyle relay, the group of Sean Keenan ’19, Loughlin, Kohm and Butler swam 3:24.48, which gave them second place.
In addition to the relays and the 500 freestyle, Loughlin swam in the 200 IM, getting second place with a time of 2:04.43. Keenan placed second in the 100 backstroke, swimming a time of 55.53. In the 100 breaststroke, Jack Lafond took second with a time of 1:02.20.
Jake Rabbiner ’19 was close behind in the 200 IM as well as the 100 breaststroke, placing third in each with a time of 2:06.07 and 1:03.02, respectively. Also taking third place was the 200-yard medley relay of Keenan, Lafond, Brian Bartle ’19 and Arsever. That group swam a 1:44.19.
In the 50 freestyle, Arsever took third with a time of 23.58 with Butler finishing fourth with 24.01. Levy placed third in the 100 butterfly, registering a 57.55, and Keenan finished the 100 freestyle in third with a time of 51.40.
Nolan O’Kelly ’21 was the top GA diver, registering a score of 138.85.
The Patriots return to action on Jan. 19 against The Haverford School at 4:00 p.m.
