Over the past few weeks, the Rowan University men’s swimming and diving team played the role of a large bear during the winter.
The divers were in a hibernation of sorts since they last competed on Feb. 25 at the NCAA Northeast/South Diving Regional, while the swimmers have been resting for even longer, since the Metropolitan Championships (MET’s) in mid-February.
However, it is time for the team to wake up, shake off the dust and get back to competing as NCAA Division III Championships are right around the corner. Prior to last weekend, Rowan swimming and diving head coach Brad Bowser had said that he believed the men’s swimming and diving team would repeat as champions at the Metropolitan Championships (METS).
On the evening of Feb. 19, Bowser’s prediction became an actualization as the brown and gold won the championship for the second consecutive year. Continue reading
Last year, the Rowan University men’s swimming and diving team took home first place in the Metropolitan Championships (METs). This year, the hope is not only that they repeat, but that the women’s team will also be taking home some hardware.
This weekend, both the men’s and the women’s swimming and diving teams will be traveling to Piscataway, New Jersey to take part in METs. Continue reading
After falling short against La Salle University a week ago, the Rowan University women’s swimming team bounced back and defeated United States Merchant Marine Academy, 193-105.
With the win, the Profs finish the dual-meet season with a 6-3 record.
“We raced well. It was sort of a one-sided meet and I feel like the girls got up for some of the races,” head coach Brad Bowser said. “They started working on some of the specifics and what they’re supposed to be doing going into conferences.” Continue reading
For the first time this season, both of the Rowan swimming and diving teams suffered defeat in the same weekend.
However, the losses might want to be taken with a grain of salt.
Over the weekend, both teams traveled to Philadelphia to take on La Salle University, a Division I program, coming away with less than stellar results. Continue reading
